Corinna Ray and myself created, Come Say Hello, a ‘ride’ that resembled a life size spinning top. How guests participated was as follows: two people volunteered together, got in line, read over the rules, got admitted through the cordoned off area, got on the ride at the same time to maintain balance, and once seated they would synch their body movements to propel the ride in a circle. They could ride for however long they wanted and once done, exit the ride together and receive a sticker badge as a memorandum of their time spent together. Come Say Hello, was an event that generated and disrupted typical social interactions.
